Concert was great.
Talked to this one lady that played tenor horn, and she let me hold her instrument! it was so cute! lol
Stars and Stipes forever was awesome, although it still isn't totally right without the piccolos, no matter how much you try and convince me denver that it's the same or better with trombones, cuz it's not! lol
Connelly is an insane percussionist. We were all looking at him in awe at how fast his arms were moving. WOAH!
Just realized too that when he goes to Europe, we're gonna have like no music theory class for a week! YES!!! lol
Trying to convince my mom that we can leave my brother home alone for just one night so i can spend the night at some one's house... they left me alone for a whole night when i was 13... but they don't trust him a whole lot anymore... why did he have to be such an idiot?!
MUST practice a lot tomorrow. 2 weeks til all state auditions.. OMG!!!
And I have a ton of homework to do. Crap.
Well I hope everyone is enjoying their 3 day weekend. I am so happy there's no school on Monday! see yall later! :)

ok, i have a question.
everyone knows how i was off on the sidelines and everything yesterday during rehearsal, well it was becuz i was having a lot of trouble breething, and right now, i just got outa the shower, and while i was in there i was having a lot of trouble breething again, and i had to get out becuz it was like yesterday, i felt close to passing out. i'm scared cuz i don't know if something's wrong with me or what...?! is it possible to have a breething problem or something from the heat? cuz i was taking a hot shower... and it's still taking me a while to gain back focus... again... i am so scared at the moment... i really hope that there's nothing wrong becuz having breathing problems right now would not be good.. like today when we were playing in band, that one song, i started getting REALLY dizzy and was having trouble breething.. again... oh god... :(

Thank you to everyone who made sure i was ok today. Thank you so much. Thank you to Charlene and Lindsey who helped me out off of the field, and i'm sorry i scared you guys, and to Patty, and to Mark who gave me a fantabulous hug afterwards, lol. :)
And I was doing that final run through no matter what anyone said... i wasn't sitting out on the sidelines watching... uh-uh, no way. Although it was sorta cool to watch for a little while...
Today was a pretty good day overall. Although I am still very upset about this whole no gas, no busses thing, and everyone's talking about how if there's no performances then there's no point in having rehearsals for band... please don't say that anyone. Some of you may be ok with this, but people like me, who are only happy when in band and around friends, are sorta upset about this... so just keep your comments to yourself. Please...
But yeah... 1st was fun, a free class, we took our band pictures and all of the non-band people in theory looked at us funny when we had just our jackets on. And 4th was fun. Since i already took my pictures I sat with Lindsey, Lauren, Melanie, Charlene and Stef and that new girl from Mississippi, Caitlin, and I think we scared the new girl, lol, cuz we were piling on top of each other and screaming and random things.. haha, it was funny, some of the tubas were about to pile on top of us too, hahaha
I've decided that real soon I'm going to be making this livejournal friends only. Anyone that's already a friend, you'll still be on my list, but some certain people have found out about myspace and will probably soon find out about livejournal, so I don't wanna risk anything slipping and them getting angry at me for anything...
Well I hope everyone's had a good day. I'm hoping too that this gas crisis will end.. and real soon... oh, does anyone know if buses are still picking up and dropping off people to and from school tomorrow?! Because if not, I really need a ride... and I will on Tuesday too. Parents are outa town... so i'd aprreciate it if the buses aren't coming tomorrow... i don't know for sure...

wow, today was actually a very good day.
this morning wasn't, but once i got to school, everything turned around and i was laughing and smiling and it was great.
music theory was interesting, playing with denver's light up hacky sack (sp?)
humanities, i wrote lots of notes, hehe
algebra, finished homework
lunch, practiced flute
band, played october and mock morris
biology, watched a boring movie and then had fun coloring pictures with katelyn, trying to convince her that one day the piccolos will rule the world, not the french horns, lol
english, talked about focus paper, and took vocab test, which i think i got a 100 on! YAY! :)
after school, went to wendy's with lindsey, found out it was closed cuz the power was out, and saw that lights were still on and you could still go through the drive-thru. so instead we went to mickey d's, and saw lots of people there. Heard lots of amusing conversations. Talked to Terran a bit. Then went back, lindsey helped me out with all state music, which was nice. Sat with linz, stef and char and watched Stef do some VERY amusing things, LOL!!!! I couldn't stop laughing...
practice, i thought it was pretty preductive. all of october down! YES!!! I'm so excited! :) It's hard though cuz i can't hear any of the other piccolos during october so i have no clue of if i'm in tune with them or not, so i'm just playing as loud as i can with a good sound, and hopefully in tune.
today was a good day, really, although it may not sound as exciting to some as it was for me. i just enjoyed myself, and it was nice.
thanks to everyone who complimented my hair cut, although i still don't like it, lol, it's just too short. ahhhh
Hoping tomorrow is as good as today was.
Now I have to go finish homework.
And eat.
and take a shower. I smell. LOL

where is everyone today?! prolly out having fun. unlike me. i've been home doing homework and practicing. i've only gone out once today, and that was to get my hair cut. ugghhhh, MY HAIR!!! the lady took FIVE INCHES off!!! FIVE!!! more than i wanted. i only wanted 3 off. she took FIVE!!! ahhhhh!!! it's too short!!!! it looks good in a ponytail but down it's just... too short... ahhh
anyway... katrina looks scarey. don't wanna be in louisiana right now.
i'm hungry, so im gonna go. call me someone! just cuz im bored! :)

prayers go out to everyone in louisiana and anyone in that area, especially in new orleans. this hurricane is insane. i don't believe how big and strong it has gotten in only 2 days.

soo... hmmm... all state clinic... was... interesting... and cool...and helpful. seriousley.
i'm starting to like UCF more and more. The person that worked with the flutes, dr. garcia, is an amazing flute/piccolo player, and is really helpful. i took lots of notes, lol. she gave lots of tips that i think will really help. I wasn't one to even think about going up and playing infront of everyone though. There was this one really stuck up girl that went up and played, and mrs. garcia was getting really aggrivated with her because she moves a LOT when she plays and she's just like "STOP MOVING! YOURE SCREWING UP YOUR SOUND!" and she actually sounded a lot better when she was still. LOL! That's funny.
I was VERY surprised to see that like 2/3 of the flutes in my group had gold lip plates. woah. and all but like 2 had the B foot. and a lot of them had silver springs. woah, i didn't realize that that many people actually had expensive intruments like that. that's crazy. there were 2 piccolo players in our room. But neither were very good to be quite honest... i was thinking afterwards that i really should've done piccolo for all state cuz mrs. garcia said that every year there's only about 10 people that try out on picc and that you have a much better chance on making it if you do picc too. darn it. if i had longer than 3 weeks to prepare and if i had known that sooner, i would so do picc now. crap.
It was cool too to see that a lot of them were in the same range as me when it came to how far we were on our music. There were a few that were definitely ahead of me on rythms and stuff, and there were some that were behind me, but not many had a better sound than me. I don't mean to be stuck up when i say that, i just mean that a lot of people have weird sounds, some of REALLY airy sounds, and no one had really open sounds. I've been working on getting an open sound more and it sorta shows... :\ I dunno... no one was totally impressive except for when it came to scales and they could do them in about a minute and a half. now that was insane. they all went at a tempo of about 130 or something... i'm going at about 110 and still make it with about 7 seconds left, but gosh, 130, that's crazy.
also found out that my lyrical peice is a lot slower than i thought. crap.
but yeah, it was interesting. i had a good time.
before we split up into sections though that was interesting becuz we were in this auditorium and there was this guy talking to us and he was really funny and stuff and i laughed a LOT. but he made us go sit next to 2 people we had never met before, which was sorta annoying, cuz then i had no one to talk to. although charlene, moe and rebecca were the only ones that went that i knew. although i met one girl last night, she's a bassoon player and the flute section leader at winter park. but i never talked to her. sooo yeah, and then when we split up 9-10 graders and 11-12 graders, i knew no one and talked to no one. sorta lonely.. oh well...
then got chick-fil-a afterwards cuz i was absoutely STARVING! haha, we saw the COW!!! i've never seen the cow before. and charlene wouldn't let me pay for her fries. grrrrr!! hehe i thought that they would like give us a lunch break, but it looked like they expected us to eat before hand. oops. hehe
so yeah, today was interesting. i wanna do something tonight, but got no where to go and no one to do anything with. hmm..
ok well i'm going. sorry this post was sorta long...
and why didn't anyone else go to the clinic?? there were FOUR people from boone that went, and that was it. woah.

see, this is what i love, i am soo glad marching season is here again. i had an amazing time tonight. no worries. just fun. even though we did lose. oh well. but yeah, this is what i love and i am so glad to be doing it again. i'm bummed tho that there's not another game for 2 weeks. uggghh.. o well. gotta be up in like 9 hours to get ready for the all state clinic tomorrow. oh boy. i haven't practiced my all state music in a while... like.. since monday... crap...! anyway... hope everyone had as much fun tonight as i did! :) see some of you tomorrow, and the rest of you monday! :)

uuggghhhh
did anyone else know about hurricane katrina (at the moment a tropical storm) hitting florida on FRIDAY!?!?!?! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo it can NOT happen!!! noooooo!!!!!!! we are going to this football game! we are having practice tomorrow! this stupid storm can not bring rain!!! nooo!!! i don't care if we end up marching in our alternative uniforms, i just want this game friday and this practice tomorrow to happen!!!!
ok sorry, just ranting, i'm just upset now...
AND that all state clinic is on saturday too! my mom says i'm not going if this storm comes through on friday. NO! i do NOT wanna stay home. I actualy WANT to go to this clinic thing to be quite honest. I don't wanna stay home cooped up cuz of a stupid storm... ahhhhh

today was interesting.. i really wish sectionals didn't have to end so early. i'm really hoping too that we DO have practice tomorrow afternoon. i think that one more practice is really needed before friday.

random thoughts..

~aced some tests.
~lots of fun playing godzilla (MUST practice that one a LOT)
~I can't flutter tongue, and that's annoying the crap outa me. I MUST learn how to. But at the moment no matter how hard I try, I can't, and it's so frusterating. grrr...
~found out matt bigalo(sp) live in my neighborhood. oh god....
~am looking foward to the football game friday.. a LOT.. i'm so excited. I hope we can wear our uniforms and the weather doesn't screw everything up this week.
~B.E.A.D. Greatest Common Factor comes in handy. (hehe)
~what was the other one? something about cats eating birds in an alley. lol
~finished a creative story i had to write for english.. me and katelyn did stories that converted into one in a way. mr. henderson lost his pixie sticks and mr. connelly lost his drum sticks... lol, don't ask... :P
~must remember to get all state form signed. haha, that paper says "students are not allowed on the roofs of the hotel/motel" hahahahahahaha that's funny that they even have to say that

so today was good.

lesson in less than an hour. hoping it goes well. maybe she'll let me work on godzilla. *hopes* :)
